USAC MOCK COMP

OCTOBER 25, 2025

With the kickoff of the 2025–2026 USAC Climbing season come several exciting changes—including updates to the bouldering competition format. We’re hosting a USAC Mock Comp to give USAC athletes hands-on experience with the new format and the tools they need to reach their full potential.

The Mock Comp includes:

  • Rotational Redpoint Format (4 boulders per USAC category)

  • Movement clinic

  • Pizza for participants

An optional $10 Pizza+Q&A ticket is available for parents as an add-on during registration. Ask our USAC Coaches, Routesetters and Gym Owners questions relevant to athlete performance and competition format..

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER UNFORGETTABLE YEAR. LET’S DO IT AGAIN IN 2026, YEAH!?

EVENT PHOTOS AND SCORING COMING VERY SOON. WE'RE A SMALL OPERATION, SO THANK YOU FOR THE PATIENCE :)

BPO SEPTEMBER 6, 2025

We were routesetters first—t-wrenches in hand, pulling long nights on home walls, challenging our partners to climb whatever we just dreamed up. After 15+ years the walls are bigger, the holds are better, and the community is next-level, but the spirit hasn’t changed. Bloc Project Open is our annual bouldering comp where setting takes center stage and the energy doesn’t let up. We build boulders for everyone—from first-timers to Open finalists—and cap it all off with a party that hits just as hard. Lights down. Music up. Chalk still in the air. Sign up. Show up. Throw down. Stay late—with a full heart and a half-empty beverage in hand.

  • Categories: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Open, Fine Wine (40+).

Each category will have two gender options: Male+NB or Female+NB.

    Scoring

There will be 56 boulders tagged from #1 (easiest) to #56 (hardest).

Scores are determined by your top 8 climbs during the 3 hour redpoint.

Competition will be peer judged and a peer signature is required on your paper scorecard for a TOP of a climb.

Suggested climbs per category (please use as a starting point but don’t be afraid to push yourself and try climbs that inspire you!):

    Beginner: #1-#14

    Intermediate: #14-#28

  • I’ve never done a competition, can I do BPO? YES! 100%. In fact, we might be more psyched about you competing than anyone else. But keep that between us ;) We’ll curate a circuit of climbs that are PERFECT for testing your skills as a newer climber and helping you have a memorable experience. And, you’re only competing against yourself and other climbers in the beginner category!

What does my entry ticket get me? Your BPO ticket gets a super slick athlete swag bag, entry to the redpoint round of your choosing, and entry to the Open Finals round that evening which includes complimentary beverages and good times guaranteed.

How do I choose my category? Easy really! Select a category based on the average difficulty of climbs you can do in a 3 hour session. We are doing paper scoring in 2025 so it will be easy to make changes as needed. If you climb multiple boulders in a higher category, we will kindly ask you to bump your category :)

Can I stick around when my redpoint is over? Because our space is limited, we ask everyone to exit the gym after your redpoint round is over. This gives our staff space to tidy up before the next stage and lets competitors get registered in a timely fashion. After the repoints have started, YES, swing back through and cheer on your boulder pals.

Can I bring my mom? Spectators are free during the redpoint rounds! Open Finals entry tickets will be required at the door and price is TBD.
